**Driveway gates are made to order, currently lead time is approximately 4 weeks**
Our Essex Arch top driveway gate is handcrafted to order here in the heart of the Shropshire Countryside by our expert joiners. Constructed using solid vertical tongue and groove boards and set within a deep wooden frame using mortice and tenon joints, to ensure strength and longevity. These strong and attractive gates make a fitting entrance for a driveway.
Choose from two available materials – Swedish redwood (Softwood) or kilned dried Iroko (Hardwood). In addition when ordering you will have a choice between raised stiles or flush stiles. And a rebating centre or no rebate. This is down to personal preference.
All our tongue and groove driveway gates come untreated as standard. However, we do offer a splash and dash treatment as an optional extra for softwood gates. This treatment process consists of the gate being completely submerged in preservative within our on-site treatment plant facilities and then is allowed to dry, leaving the surface of the timber coated in preservative. Choose between green or brown preservative. Click here to add treatment to your order.
As with all our gates there is fine attention to detail used through construction and we operate a strict quality control across everything we manufacture to guarantee a high quality finish.
Ironwork and posts can be added as an optional extra.
Our above standard gate sizes are a guideline for price, however all our driveway gates are manufactured to fit your bespoke requirements. To calculate a price for intermediate sizes, please price using the next size up e.g. for a 7’2″, use 8’0″ price. To order a bespoke gate please get in touch with us and we can process the order for you.
To measure for your bespoke gate, follow the 2 simple steps below.
- We recommend installing your gate posts before taking your measurements for bespoke gates. Once your gate posts are installed take three measurements from between the posts – top, middle & bottom.
- Reduce the smallest measurement by 40mm for driveway gate, or 20mm for single gates. This is the measurement of the width of the gate required, providing a neat fit while allowing for natural swelling that is a feature of timber gates.
